Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) has elected María Vasallo as the new president of the Board of Directors. Vasallo assumes the position after serving as a member of the organization’s board of directors for more than three years.
IBA is a non-profit organization and community development corporation that started in the South End neighborhood of Boston, to address the displacement of low-income families due to urban development. IBA offers affordable housing and supportive programming to increase social and economic mobility for the families it serves.
“Maria has long been a supporter and advisor to the IBA, helping to direct the mission of this organization to improve and empower the lives of low-income residents with affordable, sustainable housing, resident services, and educational, arts and development programs. juvenile, ” said Vanessa Calderón-Rosado, general director of IBA to El Mundo Boston.
One of the most important goals of IBA is to provide safe and sustainable affordable housing. For over 50 years, IBA has developed housing that is associated and financed by different supportive programs, while developing leaders who support and encourage themselves, their families, and their neighbors.
Vasallo is the Director of Marketing at El Mundo Boston, her family’s business. She is also the Digital Strategies at Cambridge College.

In her new role, Maria will help lead IBA’s capital campaign and new strategy planning process.
