Director of Organizing at MIRA Coalition on supporting and promoting immigrant voices

Welcome to this week’s episode of MALN Opinion+, our weekly program that is dedicated to discussing the concerns and opinions of Massachusetts’ Latino community!

This week we were joined by Joel Rivera, Director of Organizing at MIRA Coalition in Boston. Joel joined MIRA in 2016 and has helped pass pro-immigrant policy at all levels of government.

Director Joel started off by explaining a bit about MIRA and its mission. MIRA or Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy coalition was created in 1988 and is currently the largest organization of its kind in New England. They primarily work at supporting and promoting immigrant voices at local, state, and national political levels.
