MALN Opinion+: Samantha Aigner-Treworgy

Welcome to another episode of MALN Opinion+! We are excited to have a weekly program dedicated to discussing the concerns and opinions of Massachusetts’s Latino community.

We spoke with Commissioner Samantha Aigner-Treworgy of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) about the pandemic’s different impacts on early education and child care across the state, EEC’s goals moving forward, and a variety of available resources.

Commissioner Aigner-Treworgy shared that the EEC is working on building new systems that would actively incorporate the community’s voice and feedback into the organization’s decision-making—starting with the Strategic Action Plan Engagement Portal. “We can’t do our work without community engagement and without the information from the community and [without] understanding how we can support them,” she said.
