MALN Opinion+: Lori Nelson

Hugo Balta

Welcome to another episode of MALN Opinion+! We are excited to have a weekly program dedicated to discussing the concerns and opinions of Massachusetts’s Latino community.

We spoke with Boston Chief Resilience Officer Lori Nelson this week about her work as a Chief Resilience Officer (CRO), the pandemic’s impacts on local marginalized communities, and the importance of national dialogues regarding racial equity and disparities.

Nelson explained that the Office of Resilience and Racial Equity deals with all matters of race, equity, and resilience within Boston to serve the city’s underrepresented communities. She also shared how the pandemic has intensified the Office’s regular work in several ways and more leaders have very intentionally focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
